Flos ZEPPELIN 2
The Zeppelin S1/S2 Suspension Lamp was created by Marcel Wanders for the manufacturer Flos. This Italian company has worked with some of the most important names in international design over the last 50 years in its quest to develop outstanding furniture and lighting. Based in the Netherlands, Marcel Wanders mixes bold innovation with nods to vintage styles and silhouettes. His work is represented in many museum collections around the world, and he is a winner of the New York Museum of Art and Design's Visionaries Award.
A characteristic example of Wanders' aesthetic, the Zeppelin S1/S2 Suspension Lamp from Flos takes the traditional candelabra and reinvents it into something compellingly new. Available in two sizes - 180 x 180 cm and 110 x 110 cm - the piece consists of a steel frame, which supports a series of electric candles made from translucent PMMA plastic. These are in turn cocooned in a covering formed from thousands of resin threads. Finally, a faceted crystal lustre in the shape of a globe adds a sparkle to this cutting-edge design. The Zeppelin S1/S2 Suspension Lamp makes for a stunning addition to restaurants, hotel lobbies and homes with high ceilings.
